Amenities Committee
“The Heddington & Stockley Amenities Committee was formed in 1977. In that year the BBC gave the village the sum of £500 as a token of appreciation for co-operation in the making of ‘Diary of a Village’. The Amenities Committee was set up to administer this gift and, if possible, to augment in. This object has been realised by running an annual steam rally and fair. The Committee itself is made up of one member nominated by each village organisation plus local government nominees and co-opted members.”
